🧹 Setup

Make sure your space is clean and reflects your brand.
No one wants to see your grandma’s lamp in the background lol.

Kill ALL sunlight.
Natural light is unpredictable and can ruin your shot.
I completely black out my room before filming.

💡 Equipment

🎙️ Microphone

Use a dynamic mic, not a condenser.
Condensers pick up too much room noise and can be a nightmare to edit.
I use the RODE Procaster.

⸻

🎞️ Editing Software

 • Premiere Pro (Paid) – Best for assembling and editing clips.
 • CapCut (Free / Paid) – I use this for captions and visual effects. The paid version is worth it.
 • AutoCut (Premiere Plugin – Paid) – AI-powered editing assistant that removes silences and speeds things up.

⸻

🖥️ Screen Recording

 • OBS Studio (Free) – Great for screen capture.
 • Use YouTube or ChatGPT for help with setup.

⸻

📷 Camera

 • Your phone works great — just shoot in 4K at 30fps.
 • I personally use a Sony A7C (or A7R) for high-end quality.

⸻

💡 Lighting

Key Light:

 • I use the Elgato Key Light Mini.
 • Any LED light with adjustable color temperature works.

Room Light:

 • Add ambient/accent lighting to your background.
 • I use Nanoleaf panels, but they’re optional.
 • Search “small room YouTube lighting” on YouTube for ideas.

⸻

🎥 Camera Mount

 • Any tripod or phone stand works.
 • I use an Elgato Wall Mount.

🧠 Social Strategy

The fastest way to get started is to study what works.

 1. Find 5–10 creators whose content you love.
 2. Save links to your favorite videos.
 3. Study their scripts, editing, pacing, and hooks.
 4. Combine 2–3 styles to create your own template.

If you’re brand new:

Recreate someone else’s video without posting it — just for practice.

Keep a running note on your phone called “Social Ideas.”

Throughout the day, write down:
 • Funny thoughts
 • Hooks
 • Inspiring moments
 • Random ideas you like

When something hits, write a quick script.
You don’t have to stick to it word-for-word, but it helps clarify your message.

Need help? Ask ChatGPT to punch up your hook, trim your script, or test alternate versions.

🎥 Recording Tips

You’re gonna mess up.

It will be awkward. You might need 10+ takes to get one part right. That’s normal.

Here’s what helps:

 • Record 2–3 takes of your key sections.
 • Don’t worry about perfection — worry about authentic energy.

If you think: “This is stupid, I suck.”

Fuck you. You got this.
Trust the process.

✂️ Pre-Editing Workflow

Keep your file structure clean from day one.

Create a folder template like this:

- NEW PROJECT TEMPLATE -

   ├── Video
   ├── Audio
   ├── Images
   ├── Exports
   ├── Thumbnails
   └── Project Files

Duplicate this for every new project.

I also keep a separate Global Assets folder with:

 • Logos
 • Headshots
 • Fonts
 • Reusable overlays or lower thirds

My Editing Workflow:

 1. Cut and arrange the main video in Premiere Pro

 2. Use AutoCut (plugin) to:

 • Remove silences
 • Speed up jump cuts
 • Save editing time

 3. Export to CapCut for:

 • Captions
 • Effects
 • Final touches

📤 Posting Strategy

I use Metricool to schedule and post to all platforms at once.

When to post:

 • Start with 12pm–5pm in your time zone
 • OR check your analytics to see when your audience is most active

🔥 Instagram TRIALS

TRIALS only show your post to non-followers. Here’s how to use it:

 1. Make 3+ versions of a video with different hooks
 2. Post each one to TRIALS
 3. Let Instagram test which performs best
 4. Activate the winner to your followers
 5. Archive the rest

This way you only show your best-performing content to your audience.

Final Thoughts...

Remember to have FUN with it. People like you - that's why you have friends. Your quirkiness is what makes you different and  there's 100% chance that there are a shit-ton of people like you out there - so BE YOU.

Lastly - never get discouraged if you post something and it flops. People don't remember shit they don't like, they just scroll. You're not that important haha so don't feel like a low-performing post means you're trash. The whole point of life is to make progress, it's what makes accomplishments feel so good. Now get out there and start ripping!

LET'S GO.
